The most common faults we repair
Frequent repairs:
- Filtration pumps: excessive noise, loss of pressure or a burnt-out motor.
- Sand or cartridge filters: worn sand, selector valves and multiport valves.
- Water leaks: locating and repairing leaks in the shell, seals, skimmers or pipework.
- Electrical panels: automation, timers and protection devices.
- Salt chlorinators: electrolytic cells, plates and control units.
If your pool uses salt chlorination and you notice the water isn't being treated properly, we check the electrolytic cell and the control unit to determine whether it needs cleaning, repair or replacement. Sand filter media replacement: when it's needed
Silica filter sand loses effectiveness with use: it compacts, wears down and stops trapping dirt properly, even when the filter is clean. As a rule of thumb, it should be replaced every 4-6 years under normal use. The clearest signs it's time for a change are filtration pressure rising faster than usual, water that stays cloudy after a backwash, or filtration cycles that keep getting longer for the same result. We handle emptying the filter, fully replacing the sand (or the filter media, if your system uses glass media), and starting it up with an initial backwash.
